Aberystwyth Conservative Future

Aberystwyth Conservative Future

What should we do to support Jordan as its next to Iraq and had a bombing in its capital recently?

Basically do we go left or right (Syria or Iran) next or do the peacemaking thing and help the Israelis and Palestinians in whatever their governments decide?

Comments:
If Jordan has a terrorist problem , a cordial invitation to Coalition troops would help them no end.

The idea that sorting out Israel/Palestine will help terrorism is a lie. Aside from a second Holocaust, there is nothing we or Israel can do to please the Palestinians or Arabs.

The "hearts and minds" mission is to stop the creation of more terrorists, not stopping current terrorists. They must be dealt with by force.

Wars are won by the guys with the biggest guns. Is this not a war?

I'm sorry but Israel / Palestine sorting out is important as it shows that we are consistent in our democratic mandate and also means Palestinians can return to Gaza and the West Bank, thereby removing a cause for support and motivation by people accross the region.

That said you are right that Intl troops along its borders would help allay concerns and prevent weapons from Syria and Iraq (or going the other way).

Yes, but my point is to most Arabs and Palestinians, 'sorting out' Israel/Palestine is along the lines of "wiping it off the map".

This is not acceptable.

I have to agree with Chris, you just have to look at the past to see what the Arabs and Palestinians want. We're lucky that Arafat isn't around anymore as he was a major blocker of peace

I apologise, sorting out in my mind means peace keeper / enforcement presence that both sides can trust, it does not mean wiping either side out.

That said the regions Palestinian diaspora (the kind that can readilly be recruited by Al Queada the longer this dispute ensues) should have a right of return to Gaza and the West Bank.

Its why I agree that the Gaza pullout was a bold move and one that opens up opportunities for peace.

This condition has still not been met.
