Besides, you are missing the point. Most of his critics - and i include myself here - think he is still too nannying and populist, not that he is "too soft".

I was actually refferring to the average UKIP activist (a blessing in disguise in that they creamed off most of the Monday club bigots from us).
Another bonus is that UKIP may soak up BNP votes in Mid Wales, given the following that UKIP regional chair may have built up during his recent leadership bid).
Hence we don't have to deal with them unlike Labour in London.
That said it was a Conservative president in Weimar Germany who invited Hitlers scum mob into a coalition. My question is, do we want to sup with the devils in this regard given the mainstream progressive nature of the welsh constituency.
